How much time should you devote to preparing your thesis acknowledgments?

My advice is to spend no more than an hour or two on the initial draft. I recommend completing this far ahead of your final deadline so you have time to revisit it. Nonetheless, I’d aim to spend no more than one day working on it.

 

It is a “good to have” and means a lot to a lot of people, but keep in mind that you are writing this part mostly for yourself. I probably spent around two hours total writing mine because it wasn’t a priority for me.

Best recommendations for creating your personal thesis acknowledgments

Don’t spend too much time on them. The Personal Acknowledgements section is not worth devoting much thought to. Worse, because acknowledgments come at the beginning of your thesis, it is tempting to write them first. This can be beneficial, or it might provide a chance for excessive procrastination. That is why I recommend that you…

At the end of your initial draft of the thesis, write your acknowledgments. It is not necessary to compose your thesis in the order that it is given. If you write your acknowledgments at the conclusion, you’ll be less inclined to waste time on a part that doesn’t require much thought.

 

Don’t worry about it. The acknowledgments are only for yourself and anybody else you want to thank. There are considerably more vital portions for you to pay attention to!
